This institute is under the aegis of Revenue, Department Government of Himachal Pradesh. This is the only institute having expertise in Revenue matters in the State. Apart  from the advanced Revenue Training to the Revenue officials, rudimentary courses on Revenue literacy for functional utility are conducted for other organizations also.

Joginder Nagar, the only town with three power projects houses the Revenue Training Institute on the road leading to Sarkaghat.

Courses under  Disaster awareness and mitigation programmes have became a regular feature apart from Revenue refresher courses and courses under National Land Record modernization  programmes. Fresh Patwari candidates are groomed here for six months and  interactive sessions with other on going courses incorporating  Technological advances have become the hall mark of RTI.

RTI has a well equipped campus and a mess. Trainees are housed  in 2 well furnished hostels. Institute has a captive water supply and 100% Wi-Fi coverage. As a part of our social responsibility Institute has undertaken cleanliness  drive in nearby tourist places.

Our Patwari candidates and Tehsilldars ( Prob.) have donated more than 100 units of  blood and the campus has been extensively planted.

Institute also disseminates  Revenue knowledge and has started a campaign to demystify the Revenue administration.

From this year NIELIT classes  have also started.

In H.P, more than 60% bank loans, land is the security, Revenue Training Institute  has devised a programme specifically for Bank officials. We have  already conducted 10 programmes on this and the Banks have benefitted from this.

The Institute  strives to being  out the best in Revenue matters and for the purpose has even started empirical  studies with the motto of “Raise the Index”.
